I received a scholarship to attend
the 2009 Masonic Band Camp at the University of Northern
Colorado in Greeley! I was recommended by my high school
band teacher Mr. Bell.
The Masonic Band camp is a five day/four night long summer
band program that is a great experience for anyone that
is in band or marching band. The camp ends with a concert
and the Greeley Independence Parade.
On the first day you arrive, there is a lot to do! There
is student check in at Wilson Hall and then on to introductions,
sectionals, and chair placement auditions. After that,
everybody is off to take a group picture in the parade
uniforms. Finally, it’s dinner time with UNC’s
delicious food! And then the day is ended with a full rehearsal.
The next few days consist of all day practices with a
pizza and dance party. On the evening of the second to
last day on July 3, 2009 at 7:00 pm, you will perform in
a concert held at the University Center that is open to
the public. And then it is lights out to be rested for
the televised Greeley Independence Parade on July 4th!
The parade ends your stay at the camp.
I will post the pictures and videos as soon as I come
home!
